| Known Becomes a Carbon Neutral Business | |
| In support of the global movement to stem global warming and avoid future environmental catastrophe, Known has decided to become a Carbon Neutral organisation. To facilitate this we are purchasing all of our electricity from 100% renewable energy sources and we have calculated our average CO2 emissions. To offset these for the year we purchased enough trees through carbonneutral.com.au to offset our emissions which we estimate to be around 4 tonnes. We also supported Earth Hour by switching off all power to our building for 48 hours over the weekend. We encourage all of our colleagues, clients and friends to do whatever small part you can to help create a better environment for our children’s future. | |

Social Diary is Sydney's leading social calendar and events sourcing newsletter circular. We have delivered the girls a system where they can edit their own text and images, using a template we created for them in a web browser interface. They can easily send their email to the entire mailing list in one dispatch. The campaign metrics component of the system provides invaluable information on who opens the email and where they click through, so that future content can be even more targeted. The email has also been designed specifically to work with Web based email systems such as Gmail, Hotmail and Yahoo! which can sometimes wreak havoc with highly visual email designs.
The benefit of all this is that Social Diary are able to have a highly visual email without having to rely on a design studio to produce it for them. Other features of the system are the ability to have multiple templates, multiple mailing lists and opt in forms on your own site so people can add their names directly to the database. We also developed some clever technology that adds a live weather stream which updates continuously. |

Known has begun to stake a claim in the online world of Second Life. We are in the process of setting up a demo office on Silicon Island and will soon be making a land purchase where we hope to test some in world marketing ideas for our clients.
